NEW JUNIOR SOLDIER
Hannah Whitewood was enrolled as a Junior Soldier by Captain Ian on Sunday 22nd April. Supported by the church leadership and her family, Hannah shared her promises to God, and also sang a song - I'm Special. Clare Hayward, childrens ministries officer, shared some words of encouragement and challenge - and Captain spoke through Hannahs promise - reminding her that God will help her fulfil it and its not a promise to just get on with life in your own.Hannah shared the following, before she knelt at the cross and was prayed for by the leaders and members of the church:-
I want to be a junior soldier because I want to be part of the church family. In my junior soldiers lessons I learnt that God loves us very much. We did an experiment that showed us that God and sin just don't mis together but it we are bad God still loves us. He forgives us. I think the hardest part of the promise is being an obedient children and always being good in thought, word and deed. I will do my best to keep this promise. I am excited about becoming a junior soldier because I think it it a good thing to do. I want to tell my friends all about God. He loves them more than they can know. He is always there for us and we are all special to Him.
