Sunday 6th May was a great day. Being Bank Holiday Weekend a number of our family were away, but we still welcomed about sixty or seventy people. We had a very special family celebration led by Captain Ian and our childrens ministries officer, Clare. Working in four teams we looked at what it means to be a champion - and how at times we need to keep pressing on, climbing over the hurdles and keeping focussed so that we can suceed and get to Heaven. Rachel Whitewood and Ben Marshall gave short talks, and various members of the church shared prayers. Some games helped illustrate the message for the day, and Captain Ian shared some of his certificates that he had been presented - but reminded everyone that the greatest thing we will be rewarded in life is Heaven - but we need to know Jesus and be in relationship for that to be a reality for us.
